Anyone who knows me might even say I have a bit of a
I probably have too many. But I tend not to see it that way.
Many are from the 50's Like the one above with it's pretty jadeite color leaves.
Some are more modern, if they catch my fancy, there in! ... i love em all, but really fancy a fresh, in good condition, mid century, cloth.
Don't you think the little red cherries, rasberries and blue bows are so adorable?
And irrisistable?
I like to use these vintage, red, white, and blue for Memorial day and Fourth of July.
And isn't it nice that Memorial day is only 2 1/2 weeks away? Any great plans?
lots to get done before that.
My next tour of duty down the shore will be to finish up the little rental cottage.
That will include removing some things, so I best make room in my SUV!!
And I really need to get busy changing out this slipcovered sofa below at my Cottage Beach House
This front porch is one of my favorite places to sit and catch the sea beeze
( 2nd only to the back porch second floor sunroom with the view)
What is nice about this spot is.. just dozing off as the sun dances in on you, and beach-goers waltz past.
The blue denim is faded from the strong sun that pours in, and it is time to change it for a white slipcover.
I'm not so sure what I will do with the faded one?? Any ideas? I would like to re-use it because it is still in fine shape except for the faded spots.
Wonder if I can bleach it a pale blue.
I still love my little red white and blue toss pillows. I got them really reasonably priced a few years back!
Here is a closer look at them on the little window seat.
Most of the cottage is white with shades of blue and green. I usually only bring out the few red white and blue things for the summer Holidays, then back in storage they go.
I only showed you a few of my old tablecloths, I don't have alot down the shore. It's too tiny a cottage to have them all there, but wait ..there are more....back at the old homestead.
I have one for any Holiday you can think of... and then some. This shamrock one is a fav.
I keep them in these 2 boxes that I 've pushed together to form my coffee table in the family room.
And they are filled to the brim.
But in my defense, I have to say, I have stopped.
I figured I have enough... Once in a great while I will find one that I absolutely have to have.. but that hasn't happened in at least a year.
this one is embroidered. Sorry the pics aren't so good. It's nightime here, and I used my iphone,
my camera is dead!
I Love the lacy ones too. You might know the one below is one of my favorites.
I use it alot. It's very vintage, in perfect condition, and it is a large tablecloth.
It is a full 60 inches by 48 so it covers my whole table and I have a couple of small runners to match, that I found over the years. Usually out on one of my thrifting hunts. Ahhh the thrill of the hunt.
Do you have something you love to use again and again? A special platter...or runner?
I love the handiwork in these pretty pieces. Don't you? They are so easy to appreciate.
Have you thrifted anything great lately?

I can relate, stop by my blog, I did a series on living with vintage linens, mainly doilies but I love those table cloths. Could you post on my linky party this week? http://the4rsramblings.blogspot.com

I can't say that I'm a big collector of anything..., well sea treasures, but even that in small(er) doses. Vintage style has such nostalgic beauty! Love those cute anchor design on the pillows!!
ReplyDeleteAnd if you should put some coastal photos on canvas..., let me know!
I love everything ocean inspired, your porch seems like a wonderful place to just relax!
ReplyDeleteI love these tablecloths!! I keep thinking there is a way to use a a super faded, worn out one as the yoke on a denim jacket or shirt. I can't sew worth a flip but I'd look for someone who could do it for me.
ReplyDeleteI'll be back!!

I understand your obsession as they are so beautiful and have the best graphics. I hate most tablecloths made these days.
ReplyDeleteI share your obsession with vintage kitchen linens - it's a sickness but such a lovely one! Came by via Thrifty Thursday and knew I'd be your follower on the spot (spots, shudder, the tablecloth lovers nemesis).
ReplyDeleteMaya I ordered my first coastal photo on canvas yesterday. I'll let you know how it turns out!
ReplyDeleteI live in a river resort town in cottagy home c 1840,s so can relate. Used those kinda tablecloths when I was a young wife married in 1949.Wish I kept them now. I have one in blue and white. You have some beauties .

Hi Eileen!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by and leaving such a nice comment. Like you, I have a thing for vintage linens and fabrics. I have a napkin that resembles the top tablecloth in the first picture. You have a nice collection.
Can one ever have too many vintage tablecloths? Really?
ReplyDeleteI looove your beautiful tableclothes! I have a few that I love to decorate with! They're so festive and add such wonderful color to a table!I love using my bright colored vintage pyrex with them! Thanks so much for sharing these with us! Debbie @ Cottage Hann~Me~Downs
ReplyDeleteYou have the prettiest things! I love those boxes you're using as a coffee table. Like you, I love old linens. Dadly, I do not own a bintage tablecloth. I look at them locally, but they are so stained and so expensive that I can't bring myself to buy them.
ReplyDeleteAdorable vintage tablecloths and love your cottage beach house. Thanks for adding your link to Beach Cottage Good Life Wednesdays and joining the party.
ReplyDeleteLove, love your vintage table cloths! You really hit a home run with the cloth you picked out for the Memorial Day or 4th of July table. I love that look and have been trying to find fabric like that for a 4th table. This is a super awesome look. You can never have to many vintage linens. They can make a set of dishes look different every time you use them. Thanks for linking this up!
ReplyDeleteI just love that tablecloth with the pretty blue dishes and glasses!
