Vintage Bottles get a new home

Last week I posted here, about my vintage bottles haul that I found while driving down the shore.

See the beach glass?

All found by my daughter on the shore of the Delaware river!!
Yes,
97 miles upstream from where it meets the Sea!...
Any river is a good place to look for beach glass, because all it really is, is broken pieces of discarded glass from years ago, tossed and tumbled by the waters to a smooth finish. The rivers that flow through our cities are loaded with this stuff.
We have found much more at the river than by the ocean.

This week I thought I would show you how I used those bottles .... on the windowsill above my sink, that was just crying out for something

I love how the pristine aqua glass combines with the rustic old lid, and compliments my backsplash.
It's also kinda neat how the glass picks up the aqua chunks in my granite. I do love the granite that I picked..

I really enjoyed cutting roses this year from my garden, and spreading their beauty around the house.

My daughter in law gave me this bush last year. And I am so glad it is thriving. They are little mini roses.

And so many blooms came out this week.

posting at Photo Feature Friday the theme is flowers this week

I really think I am going to need a shelf going across this window, what do you think?
Up about midway... I'm thinking about 6 or 8 inches wide, for my herbs and old bottles, because with summer here now I will need my window to open unencumbered.

So there goes another project, I'll have to find time for. I'll post about how that shelf turns out.

Thanks for stopping by! Have a happy Memorial weekend!!

I will be trying to make it to these fun linky parties!
Come join the fun.
