Sorry i haven't been doing much blogging or visiting, I've been busy with a new job.
I have been squeezing in some projects, and I do mean squeezing.
Thinking it was time to expand, I have another space I rented at Cape May Antiques, on Laffeyette st. It's in the same general area as my first spot at the North End Garage in Cape May, and I've been busy filling it.
Here is a peak at a couple things I have recently re-done.
A Coastal Magazine rack
Which I had found like the pic below
I wasn't sure what to do with the small trow at the top that I suspect was once used for knitting needles.
So since I haven't yet mastered the knitting thing, I filled with shells!!
Next up is a mirror that I really loved but wasn't crazo about the gold on it...Dont you just love the big carved rose??
Which I adore now in this creamy white!! I added just a small bit of distressing.
How do you like them??
Have fun this week with all your creations!!
Ahhh I gotta go to work!!
C U later alligator... thank you for stopping by!

One thing I love to do is decorate. The 4th of July is a great excuse to sprinkle on the red white and blue.
The sunporch at the beach house gets a dash of red white and blue from some old pillows, I bring out this time of year.
The window down at the Cape, was looking a bit shoddy at the North End Antiques,
Basically because the window recently broke so has been a little understated in the decorating department.
I decided to go ahead and add some Patriotic flare, anyway, so I gathered all the different Patriotic items I could find and went to work. I love the Land of Liberty plate.
Excuse the fact that the glass is broken as we wait for a new piece to arrive.
This flag below was crafted from recycled lathe.
A few whites for pop and red and blue vintage books
I wish the pictures were better, the glare from the glass is impossible to avoid.
It's a multi dealer co-op in Cape May NJ.
Here are a few shots of some of the pieces I've recently sold from my booth below.
Happy Fourth!!

Picky finds the Greatest Vintage Door Ever!
I'd been looking around for just the right vintage door for a while, with not much luck.
I wanted it to be not too wide.
I wanted the panels to be the old horizontal ones you see on old oak doors in a cottage.
I wanted it to be chippy, with an old coat of paint
I guess I was being Picky.
And then I found the perfect one.
Hiding between a bunch or other old doors in an old junk shop.
Immediate and sudden infatuation hit me!
Soonhe it was in the back of my van.
There was a really lot of grime but it cleaned up like a charm with my favorite, Mr clean Magic Eraser.
From this mess:
That same spot after a regular clean up with pine sol.
And that spot after one swipe with Mr Clean Magic eraser.
I leave the elbow grease to Mr clean. I love it. It all cleaned up in about half an hour.
what do ya think?
And what is your favorite thing to clean up grime with?

Soon
I envisioned it in my guest room in the corner, just waiting for some vintage linens.
Or maybe I'd add a few hooks, to hold whatever my guest needs to hang.
As I cleaned it up I realized, I love it's soft minty green color.
It 's perfect amount of chippy
And the perfect way it fits in the corner!

Project 13 and 14 of 2012 French Desk & Cottage Book case
I have to admit I have fun with these projects. I still jump in without taking before shots quite a bit.
I'll have to work on that!
Here is my latest 2 bits of creativity.
A pretty French Provincial Desk.
And now lets peek at one wall of my booth and that bookcase I re-did
I did take before pics of that.. a skinny shelf with good bones..and a dark side.. He needed help in being repurposed.
And just a coat of white beachified him enough for me to fall in love
I hated to part with this one, but i am sure he will find a happy home
With lots of aquas and greens in my booth for the coming spring.
Pretty soon the adventures of Picky and Pickier will begin again!! Yippee!!
With my upcoming annual trip to Florida and I get to hang out with my sis, drink mojitos, and hit every junk shop on the eastern seaboard!!
hmmmnn maybe one of these is in my future...

I am a bit behind on my posting this picture is under the Valentine's window
That window is actually dressed for Saint Patty's Day now and looks like this:He had been used and abused.

Christmas Decor Ideas
I added a few new elements to the Christmas decor today. Decided to add a small tree to the family room, that's where I watch TV at night, so I can see it's twinkle all the time. The big tree is in the living room, I only get to admire it when I am passing by. So I added this little one to the table with the Nativity.
I dressed it all in white with just a few of my book page angels.
which I posted how I make here
We have a white/ snowflake theme going on around the house this year, with lots of puffy white snow as a backdrop for just about everything, so when
I found some of those big white snowflakes I've been seeing around blogland, I couldn't resist adding a few to my windows for a wintry feel, in the dining room,I love the golden glow outside on the bare tree branches today!
And more snow drops in the family room
And a few vintage additions
In the family room on an old basement window I found at the curb years ago with all broken glass.
.I had the busted glass replaced with mirrors, attached a shelf and distressed painted it all at least 10 years ago. It is still one of my favorite wall pieces in my house.
I love the old original locking hooks.
I usually have a few pictures on it and some roses garland but of course it has to get dressed for Christmas.
And on the dining buffet I added a couple little old cream cheese crates.
I almost passed this little crate below by, because I didn't like the area where someone once almost painted it green, but I decided it was coming home with me anyway, at such a great price...3 dollars!! I've learned to accept it's imperfection.
What struck me about these 3 crates is they all have different brand names, and it really surprised me because I thought Philadelphia brand Cream Cheese was the only one that made cream cheese!
I think they will add some nice vintage charm to my kitchen even after the Holidays, don't you?
And just a dab more bling in the family room, with some branches cut from the bottom of our real tree, , added to a shiny urn.
It's the most wonderful time of the year.
............well.... besides summer time!
